Sarah Colborne - UK Palestine Solidarity Campaign

Sarah Colborne is both a member of the GMJ International Executive Committee and its International Central Committee. She is also the GMJ national co-ordinator for the UK. Colborne is director of the UK Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) which claims that within its ranks “expressions of racism or intolerance, or attempts to deny or minimise the Holocaust, have no place.”

The PSC has, however, been at the centre of much controversy over its tepid approach to Holocaust denial and racism among its members.  Colborne has shared a platform with the homophobic and racist leader of the Northern Islamic Movement Raed Salah and leapt to his defence when he was apprehended by the British authorities. Colborne and Salah also sailed together on the ‘Mavi Marmara’ in 2010 as part of the ‘Freedom flotilla’, during which Islamist incitement to violence was documented in this video, in which Salah can be seen in the first row, wearing a white skull-cap.

Here is Sarah Colborne (holding the green umbrella) at a demonstration in London together with ‘Viva Palestina’ organizer Carole Swords (holding the other end of the PSC banner) who, in January 2012, was convicted of using “threatening and abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment” towards a British supporter of Israel.
